'Agent Carter' season 2 is teased to be pretty much darker, as they relocate from New York to Los Angeles. And latest reports reveal that one of the villains has been finally named. She is Madame Masque who is reportedly has an equal power with the protagonist Agent Peggy Carter.
There will be more intense and dramatic scenes to happen in 'Agent Carter' season 2. Previous reports all suggest that the upcoming will be much darker than before. And one of the villains who will spread darkness next season is a female.
Den of Geek recently reported that the female villain is no other than Madame Masque (real name: Betty Frost). She is an expert markswoman, a skilled fighter, a master strategist and a robotics expert at the same time. The site notes that she would be a perfect match for Peggy.
In an interview with SlashFilm, series executive producer Tara Butters revealed and described their version of Madame Masque as "very much a Marvel villain that we co-opted a little bit like we did Dr. Fennhoff in the first season." And it can be remembered that Fennhoff was a slightly sideways version of Dr. Faustus from the comics. So, viewers should expect something similar with Madame Masque.
Butters added, "I think we've changed the look of her a bit obviously. We've made her an actress, which is very Hedy Lamar. She was a '40s siren actress who was also a scientific genius, so that's part of what we're mining with this character."
"As much as there are not enough female heroes just on television, I feel like having a female villain is just as equally powerful," she said.
According to Cinema Blend, Madame Masque, in the comics, is the daughter of Count Nefaria leader of the criminal organization the Maggia.The actress who will play the said villain is yet to be announced. But from the descriptions of Masque released, it could be someone with villainous face.
