Actress Charlize Theron has turned the big 4-0 after recently celebrating her 40th birthday with family and close friends. The 'Dark Places' South African actress celebrated in style with her famous friends around her for her special birthday bash which took place the same day as her actual birthday.
According to a report from Just Jared, the actress finished off her special day, August 7th with a birthday party in a private residence in West Hollywood, California. Among some of her guest were actress and good friend Emily Blunt who was accompanied by her husband John Krasinski
Daily Mail reported that American comedian and actress Chelsea Handler who is known as one of Charlize Theron's closest celebrity friends was also present at the party alongside comedian stunt performer Johnny Knoxville and his wife Naomi Nelson.
In a report from Eonline, guests were seen arriving at the birthday celebration around 7pm on the Friday evening, and were spotted leaving around 11pm. Charlize decided to keep her party small and simple, by having a low key house party. Delivery trucks were spotted arriving at the private residences hours before the party; sources say that flowers and tents were seen being dropped off.
Though the get together was quite a small one compared to other celebrity parties, sources reported that loud cheers and names being called out gave the idea that party games were going on throughout the celebration.
Charlize recently split up with boyfriend Sean Penn but has been focusing on her career and two children. The 40 year old actress recently adopted her second child, a daughter, August Theron during the latter part of July. Charlize is already a mom to adopted son Jackson Theron who she adopted in 2012.
After turning 40, and after the birthday buzz, Charlize Theron is cureently busy preparing for the release of her latest movie 'Dark Places' which she stars in as the main role.
