The latest spoilers reveal that there will be heavy drama to this hilarious world of puppets, as part of the reboot. Producers of the show said that they chose to reset some of the relationships to give the show somewhere to build to.
The beloved puppet characters 'The Muppets' are returning. Thanks to the 10 minute presentation which made ABC nod for a new TV series. 'The Muppets' are headed to ABC this fall with lots of anticipation from fans.
'The Muppets' latest spoilers reveal that viewers should expect to shed some tears on some of their episodes because there will be lots of heavy drama.
In fact, the show's co-writers Bill Prady and Bob Kushell are finding a new way to enliven a franchise that's had a difficult time evolving in the years since creator Jim Henson's death in 1990, according to Bend Bulletin.
One good way to do it is to evoke human emotion. So, producers have decided to "reset" some relationships to give the show somewhere to build to.
And during the TV Critics press tour, Kermit announced that he and Piggy have split. He also revealed that he has a new pig girlfriend, which is sure to provide fodder for future plots on the series, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.
"It's good publicity," Piggy said. "So sure, I'm proud we're broken up. This is going to be great for moi's stardom. Now everybody's going to want to know, 'Ooh, ooh, who's Miss Piggy dating? Who is she getting caught snogging with?' "
"I'm not wondering that," Kermit said. "Not of interest."
'The Muppets' will be done in the mockumentary style. Additionally, the network has promised a more 'mature' tone for the show's comeback on ABC. ABC's Paul Lee said at the upfront presentation that "these aren't your grandmother's Muppets.
