Rihanna takes "The Voice" stage. Bob Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC Entertainment, announced that Rihanna already agreed to join the hit NBC singing competition, during the TCA press tour in Beverly Hills, California last August 13.

The hitmaker will be joining great singers and performers like Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. The first episode of Ri- ri's new show is set to start on September 21 for its ninth season.

In fact, the chairman of NBC already declared Rihanna's role for the show, as mentioned in the Daily News. "This is one of music's true supervisors coming on board to influence the lives and careers of the performers," the NBC chairman said on the TCA press tour.

HollywoodLife had already reported that for a while NBC has been eyeing Ri-Ri for the role. "The producers feel the best chance they have is with Rihanna and they would love that because they haven't had a black female judge yet," a source told HollywoodLife. "Mark Burnett is very convincing so we will see what happens!"

According to Mirror UK, it was previously reported that Brad Paisley will be the advisor for Team Blake. It was also suggested that John Fogerty will be the support advisor to help Team Adam's aspiring singers.

But NBC had its eyes on Rihanna and decided to put the music icon on the show. The "Four Five Seconds" singer is the latest music superstar to kick off as key adviser on "The Voice". Former advisors included pop star Taylor Swift, Nate Ruess and Coldplay singer Chris Martin have also took on the role in the past three seasons.

As Ri- ri's new role entails, the "Diamonds" singer will mentor the newest contestants from all four teams led by coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams. She is expected to take on the advisor role during the "Knockout Rounds" of the teams.

"The Voice " season will still be hosted by Carson Daly. The singing competition is set to air on U.S. television screens on September 21. While "The Voice" fans and the coaches' supporters are very eager to find out which brand new sets of singers will join each coaches' teams, surely the show's viewers are just so thrilled to see a new key advisor for the four teams.
