'Mission: Impossible 6' is set to start filming in the summer of 2016 for Paramount Pictures' planned release on 2017. Leading man Tom Cruise will reprise his role as the iconic agent Ethan Hunt.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio behind the box office success is in talks with partner Skydance Productions to start filming in the summer of 2016 in time for a June or July 2017 scheduled release. Rentrak's senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian said that the early shoot will capitalize on the success of the latest film in the franchise as well as future collaboration with Tom Cruise. He added, "I think it's very smart... Given the performance of 'Rogue Nation,' there has to be another movie."
In a separate article by The Daily Mail, Cruise revealed in an interview on 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart' that work had already begun on the sequel further reiterating the planned filming on 2016. He said that he had already discussed the possibility of an 'Edge of Tomorrow' sequel that also starred Emily Blunt with Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie as director and writer respectively.

Vice chairman for Paramount Pictures Rob Moore confirmed Cruise's statement, according to Variety. He said, "We're very happy to be developing this movie with Tom...
