Sherlock Season 4 release date is still stalled. The producers tease fans of the special edition instead with a different persona of Holmes.

MNR Daily says that the release date of Sherlock Holmes season 4 has remained unannounced. The producers of the show have teased fans of the Christmas specials that is definitely arriving this year. But while they are at it, there has been no further update about the regular series.

What avid followers know from the report of DigitalSpy that the filming will start in 2016. Yet the showrunners have not confirmed it officially. When interviewed about the upcoming season of Sherlock, Steven Moffat would just hint fans what the next installment would be like. "it is is going to be... I suppose you'd say... consequences. It's consequences. Chickens come to roost," he said.

Christian Today also has the same account about the upcoming season. It reveals about the Victorian era of Sherlock Holmes, which is the special edition of the British crime drama TV series. It is like revisiting the time of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who wrote this adventure of detective. With that setting, fans have to expect that their favorite main characters would look different this coming December in the small screen.

It is also safe to reiterate what Mark Gatiss said in the interview that there would be no time-traveling in the special edition. So in a way, Holmes together with other characters will have a different persona since there is a change in their personal facade. In addition, the creator Gatiss has also explained that the Victorian era of story is its own thing and not part of the next season. It also run with 3 episodes this December.

iDigital Times has also seconded the report about the stand-alone special installment of Holmes. It will be different from the contemporary adaptation, obviously narrating in a different timeline. Moffat has shared short details like Holmes would be a little more polished.

Since nothing has been revealed about the "Sherlock Holmes Season 4" release date yet, the viewers could simply divert their attention to the special edition which will be released in December.
