"NCIS" Season 13 will be showing what happened to Leroy Jethro Gibbs after he was shot twice in the Season 12 finale. Gibbs was shot by a young recruit of a terrorist network and it remains to be seen if he survived the attack.
The NCIS team was in a mission in Afghanistan and it includes DiNozzo, Teague and Gibbs. Gibbs' shooter was actually the same boy that he befriended upon their arrival in the area. The boy was identified as Luke, played by Daniel Zolghadri, and Gibbs had a paternal affiliation with him. According to Gospel Herald, the writers of "NCIS" used a young boy to attack Gibbs as they wanted to portray what really happens in countries affected by terrorism.
According to a report by TV Line, there were a lot of cliffhangers from the season 12 finale and it is expected that Gibbs will be coming back but the main focus of the upcoming episodes is how he will come back and recover from the attack. The shooting of Gibbs will also show how it has impacted the team and the direction where the show is going.
Rocky Carroll, the actor playing Vance, also said in an interview that people say that once Gibbs is gone, the show is also gone. Carroll teased, "So he's got to survive.' To which I say, 'Yeah, but will he be the same?'" Carroll pointed out that the second gunshot wound was not just a flesh wound but the bullet went through Gibbs.
In a report by Design & Trend, the survival of Gibbs in "NCIS" Season 13 will be on the hands of a badass Navy surgeon played by "Two and a Half Men's" Jon Cryer. The upcoming season will be picking up from when Gibbs was shot and Cryer will be summoned in the scene to help save the life of the much-loved character. Cryer's character, Dr. Cyril Taft, will be seen in three episodes of the show and will be friends with Gibbs at some point.
"NCIS" will be back to the small screen on September 22 at 8 P.M. on CBS. Do you think Gibbs will survive the attack?
