The highly anticipated space exploration and survival game "No Man's Sky" might be getting a physical release for the Playstation 4 platform with a high price tag, according to a product listing at Amazon UK.
The news came to the site Design & Trend when the online retail giant, Amazon UK, released a product listing which showed that a physical disc version of "No Man's Sky" will be available for purchase, at the high price of £46.85 ($73.29). This goes against previous statements from the game's developer, Hello Games, which stated that it will only have a digital release on the Playstation Network.
The site also pointed out that the Amazon listed price is much higher than initial speculations of "No Man's Sky" following the price point of other indie games which sold at a slightly cheaper amount. Another interesting aspect about the game's price is that it reportedly does not follow the unspoken rule of how items are typically sold in the U.K. Some comments from a Reddit thread about the subject, stated that a price suffix of 85p is very rare since most would have 99p. Design & Trend speculated that the Amazon price may just be a placeholder until "No Man's Sky" is ready for release.
Meanwhile, many game fans have been waiting for Hello Games to announce the RPG's release date, ever since "No Man's Sky" was first previewed during the 2013 VGX gaming conference. According to Vine Report, the game was voted by some critics as the "Best Original Game" and "Best Independent Game" during the 2014 E3 conference. In this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo held last June, Hello Games teased gamers with a first look of a gameplay clip for "No Man's Sky."
Hello Games has yet to confirm the official launch date for "No Man's Sky," although the game is expected to be digitally released for the PC and Playstation 4 platforms.
