The crazy mountain man named Chick will be seen in "Bates Motel" Season 4 as several reports have confirmed. According to them, actor Ryan Hurst reprising his role in the show will not sit well with Dylan, played by Max Thierot, after what happened in the show's season 3 finale.
Christian Today reports that in the Season 3 finale of "Bates Motel," Dylan needed money for the lung surgery of Emma, played by Olivia Cooke. Here's where Chick came in as he paid a lot of money for a gun run and Dylan is the one who made the deal with. However, the partner of Chick was not expecting to see Dylan and his father, Caleb, to meet him regarding the gun run so it became a shoot-out.
The partner of Chick tried to kill Dylan in order to send a message to the former but was not successful in doing so. The problem is, Caleb confronted Chick about them getting almost killed and the latter refused to give the money that was promised to Dylan. Caleb then shot Chick and took all the money and left town leaving Dylan to face the consequences, Christian Today reported.
It is reported that Chick will be hunting Dylan for his money by Season 4. If this happens, it is believed that Chick will be in a direct conflict with Norman at some point and if confronted by Norman, things might get bloody. Another speculation by International Business Times is that Chick could hurt or maybe even kill Emma if he does not find Dylan and does not get his money back.
"Bates Motel" showrunner, Kerry Ehrin, also recently shared that there will be other characters reprising their roles in the show but did not give away any details as to which familiar faces will make an appearance this coming Season 4, Movie News Guide reported.
