The Stagefright Hack scare remains a threat in the Android world, no matter how Google tried to come up with patches and press releases that they are slowly destroying the bug.
Stagefright Hack gained notoriety when security researcher from Zimperium discovered the flaw and reported that the hack can potentially affect at least 950 million android users. After the scare, Google released a couple of patches that was reported to fix the scare and calm the public.
However, technical website Hacked.com and other experts are quick to debunk Google's claim and pointed out that the hack grows stronger as the day goes by. And the worst part of it? Google apparently has yet to come up with the answer to the threat.
In addition, the article published by Hacked.com cited that the 4 line patch by Google that was previously implemented to battle the scare turned out to be a hoax, which makes the threat still potent and able to affect the 950 strong Android users.
Another technical website, BGR, botched Google's monthly update strategy. The search engine giant came up with the monthly security update at the Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas as an answer to the threat.
BGR pointed out that this move can be effective so long as the update goes straight to the users without the intervention of mobile operators and manufacturers.
The process is going to be heavy for users since they will have to wait for the third party vendors to come up with the fix before they can downloaded it in their devices, that is if they are still bug free. The Stagefright Hack is the latest scare on the technology world that stirred the entire community since the millennium bug.
With the hack, cyber criminals can go deep inside the device and camouflage their presence through safe coding. The hackers, once inside the device, can access all vital information stored on the device such as passwords and bank accounts. One more vital thing about the hack is the hacker's ability to control the devices mike and record all conversations, Komando reported.
The three websites were in unison when they claimed that Google remains oblivious of how to protect its 950 Android users against the Stagefright Hack and as the days go by, until they can come up with something to fight it, the hack will grow stronger and stronger.
