WNBA Players Glory Johnson and Brittney Griner STILL Married After Judge Denies Annulment

WNBA Players Glory Johnson and Brittney Griner will remain as a married couple after an Arizona judge ruled on the decision on Wednesday. The judge denied Griner's request for annulment of her 28-day marriage to Johnson.

The decision comes after Griner, 24, filed annulment in June after finding out that Johnson, 25, was pregnant with her former beau, PEOPLE reports. According to the Maricopa County judge, Griner will remain as the "breadwinner" since her partner Johnson has taken a leave for a year while she's pregnant with twins.

When asked about her reaction to the court's decision, the pregnant Tulsa Shock player claimed that the judge just did what's right.

"I am thankful the annulment was rejected because an act of marriage did occur," Johnson stated to TMZ.

"Together we made life changing decisions which impacted our lives collectively, and we both should be held responsible for those decisions," she adds.

Griner, who's playing for the Phoenix Mercury calmly accepted the decision.

"I respect the judge's decision. We are moving forward with the divorce on a 28-day marriage," says the 24-year-old professional basketball player.

According to the court documents, Griner filed annulment two months ago after knowing that Johnson was exchanging texts with her former beau. The 24-year-old WNBA star also claimed that marrying Johnson was a huge mistake. She felt pressured in tying the knot with Johnson.

Moreover, she alleges Johnson of hiding her sexual relationship with her former boyfriend from 2013 to 2014 when the two of them started dating.

Johnson and Griner tied the knot at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs resort in Phoenix. They announced Johnson's baby bump less than a month after they wed. Meanwhile, Johnson moved out of their newly purchased home in Arizona and transferred to Tulsa. She's now more focused on her pregnancy as she garners support from family and friends.
