'Indiana Jones 5' may be back for another sequel in 2018, however, details remain a mystery. Chris Pratt is still tagged as a newer, younger Indiana Jones but his casting remains unconfirmed. Veteran and pop culture icon Harrison Ford returned to the skies just recently after a near-fatal plane crash incident last March. His wife, actress Calista Flockhart, finally spoke out regarding the accident.
According to Movie Pilot, 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and 'Jurassic World' leading man Chris Pratt may be the next generation Indiana Jones. It was rumored over and over again that his undeniable rise to the top and recent success with films would fit in nicely with plans to resurrect the franchise's lackluster reception after predecessor 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'. It was previously reported that Shia LeBeouf who played Mutt Williams in the latest film would replace Ford but it seems the actor will not be rejoining the cast any time soon.
In a separate article by The Daily Mail, Ford was seen flying out from Santa Monica, California just five months after a plane crash incident that left him with a broken pelvis, a broken ankle and severe head trauma. He was photographed doing routine checks with his helicopter before taking it out for a spin. The 73-year old actor recently surprised his loyal fans during an appearance at the 2015 Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim last August 16.
Ford's two-seater PT-22 aircraft made a crash landing in Venice's Penmar Golf Course just moments after take-off from Santa Monica Airport last March 5. The accident, reported by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), was blamed on malfunctioning plane equipment - specifically a faulty carburetor. Ford is known as a vintage aircraft enthusiast and is certified to fly land and sea planes as well as helicopters. He spent the months following the incident recuperating at home.
According to People Magazine, Flockhart revealed that her husband's accident earlier this year was a huge blow to their family. It sent them to a dark, difficult and scary point in their lives. She said, "I think it just makes you realize, once again, that life can turn on a dime. We just have to appreciate every second we're here, because you never know." She added that even after the accident, Ford remains passionate about his flying hobby and doesn't have plans of letting go. She said, "You know, he loves it, so I love it and I support him 100% in that."
'Indiana Jones 5' will be fifth film in George Lucas' successful action-adventure franchise. The first film 'Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark' was nominated for several awards including the Academy Awards including Best Picture and grossed $389 million, according to Box Office Mojo.
