'Indiana Jones 5' is the fifth film in the franchise created by George Lucas and was preceded by 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'. It is based on the exploits of Indiana Jones as he travels around the world in search of adventure. Fans may just be seeing their favorite explorer back on the big screen once more. Reports say that the film may even be teased in another Lucasfilm movie 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'.
According to Comicbookmovie.com, the latest Star Wars movie may have a teaser for 'Indiana Jones 5'. This rumored teaser featuring an old Indiana Jones and his grandson may appear in the beginning of 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'. Some said it seemed like a far flung idea - something a fan would have created out of his own excitement. But until something final is established, it would probably help to keep eyes peeled.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that 'Indiana Jones 5' will definitely push through although there's no specified date for release yet. Doubts have been put to rest on the film's first official confirmation. In 2012, Disney and Lucasfilm struck a deal. In the article it was stated that Disney also acquired the rights to "less-storied Lucasfilm properties, among them Willow and Radioland Murders.
A bigger prize is the Indiana Jones franchise." Kennedy was also stated to have said, "It will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I'm not quite sure. We haven't started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it." Kennedy's comments may be vague but at least it told fans what they needed to hear - that another follow-up 'Indiana Jones' film will happen.
Another strong rumor going around concerns that of fan favorite Chris Pratt to be cast as a younger version of Indy. Although unconfirmed, the rumors are far from over unless something official from studio executives comes out. He did refute this casting speculation, according to Cinema Blend. Shia LaBeouf may have been cast as Indy's son Mutt Williams in the fourth movie 'the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' and was speculated to fill in for future films in the franchise but it doesn't seem likely that he would be back after the movie flopped in the box office.
The title character, a fictional archaeologist named Dr. Henry Walton Jones, Jr. or simply Indiana Jones, most famously played by Harrison Ford will return for 'Indiana Jones 5'. The first film in the franchise, 'Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark' was critically acclaimed and was nominated for several awards including the Academy Awards. To date, the franchise produced print publications such as novels and comic books, television series, video and role-playing games as well as miscellaneous merchandise such as toys and amusement park rides.
