‘The Hateful Eight’ Update: Character Posters Feature Cast in Spaghetti Western-Inspired Glory

By

The Weinstein Company has released a series of "The Hateful Eight" character posters featuring the film's cast in all of their spaghetti western-inspired glory. Quentin Tarantino's gun-toting flick is scheduled to premiere in 70mm this Christmas, followed by a digital release on January.

Arriving hot on the wheels after its first full-length trailer release, the Weinstein Company has unveiled six character posters for Quentin Tarantino's highly anticipated Western "The Hateful Eight". According to Flickering Myth, the visual which features Kurt Russell's John Ruth and Jennifer Jason's Daisy Domergue has been rolled out the public first, and was followed by Demian Bechir's Bob. The studio has also revealed the individual posters which show Bruce Dern's General Sandy Smithers, Walton Goggin's Sheriff Chris Mannix and Michael Madsen's Joe Gage.

"The Hateful Eight" appears to be the "Django Unchained" helmer's most intriguing film to date. It follows the story of a gun-toting group of eight who find themselves stranded in a mountain lodge after a vicious blizzard hits the town. Apart from the actors which were featured in the posters, the movie also star "The Avengers" franchise actor Samuel L. Jackson as Major Marquis Warren, as well as "Jupiter Ascending" actor Channing Tatum whose role is yet to be determined.

The Western which was also written by Tarantino himself serves as his eight feature film. It also marks the continuation of the long-standing collaboration between the acclaimed filmmaker and the Weinsteins. Coming Soon notes that both parties have already worked together in the films "Reservoir Dogs" and "Django Unchained". Richard N. Gladstein, Stacey Sher and Shannon McIntosh are producing the upcoming movie with Harvey Weinstein, Bob Weinstein and Georgia Kacandes as executive producers. Spaghetti-western legend Ennio Morricone ("The Good, The Bad and The Ugly") is attached to provide an original score.

"The Hateful Eight" is scheduled to premiere in glorious 70mm on Christmas day, to be followed by a digital release on January 8, 2016.
