'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2' director Francis Lawrence called his last film unique from the previous ones in the series. The film's newest poster was also pulled out recently for featuring an accidental expletive.
According to Movie News Guide, Francis Lawrence compared the two films in the final installation of the 'Hunger Games' franchise. He explained that part 1 was more on propaganda and media manipulation. The film relied heavily on principles of human psychology and trauma. On the other hand, part 2 will show more action scenes reflecting actual war between the main protagonists and antagonists in the film.
The war film - as it was called - showed the audiences what to expect for its November 20, 2015 release through its official trailers and teasers. The latest trailer showed Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss leading her supporters in the battle field against a tyrannical President Snow and the Capital. It showed explosions, monsters, crumbling landscapes, fighting and weapons. The young actress seemed to show no signs of backing down especially in one of her biggest franchise projects to date.
According to CNBC, Lawrence is currently estimated to have a net worth of $52 million and was included in Forbes' highest grossing earners in Tinsel Town last year. She was also reported to earn more than some of her A-lister male co-actors - something that is very rare by industry standards. Her major film franchises and cash cows include the 'Hunger Games' film trilogy and Marvel's 'X-Men' series.
In an article by Screen Crush, 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2' recently came out with a brand new promo poster announcing a 100-day countdown via Twitter. It didn't seem like much at a first glance - just the words '100 days' and 'until' against a backdrop of Katniss' covered in war paint staring straight at the viewer.
However, on closer inspection it seemed that the placement of the letters caused a visual disturbance in the form of the infamous C-word. Lionsgate quickly pulled the poster out upon realizing that their mistake garnered more publicity that their intended promotional message for fans.
'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2' is a science-fiction war and adventure film intended as the series finale. It is based off the 'Hunger Games' best-selling young adult series by author Suzanne Collins. The franchise follows events in the fictional country called 'Panem' wrought with instability and chaos due to the autocratic rule of the wealthy Capitol controlled by President Snow.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 features a star-studded cast including Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket and Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy.
