Finally, it is done and everybody can go over it and go on with their lives. The wait is finally over and it has been confirmed that the M in Android M is indeed Marshmallow and not Milkshake.

Before the confirmation, there are tons of speculations that the Android M will be a toss between Marshmallow and Milkshake. On the other hand, aside from the catchy name, the Android Marshmallow is above and beyond a fluffy treat.

Before going any further on the operating system's feature, Google made it official and confirmed that they will be rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the next couple of months. According to PC Advisor, the operating system is believed to make its debut on October together with Google's next flagship device the Nexus 5 (2015).

Google's Android M will feature tons of new features which include enhanced app permission and fingerprint payment system that will go head to head with Apple's Apple Pay and Samsung's Samsung Pay, the Android Pay (a giveaway).

On top of the Android Pay, Android Marshmallow will also feature Doze, which is according to Digital Spy. Doze will address the biggest issue of the previous Androids, battery life. The feature will put the device on a slumber when it senses that it is not being used.

Another new feature of the Android M is the App Permissions and according to Future of Privacy, this feature finally gives the owner the control on specific app and device feature. This is a great addition for many reasons, but on top of them all is security. The Android M will also have a very sophisticated and close to an interactive assistant, named Tap, which will make the owner's life easier.

Nonetheless, whether it is Android Marshmallow or Milkshake or Macadamia, the new features look promising for now and will be enticing for the public. However, at this point, the Android M is as good as its predecessor until it proves otherwise come launch date.
