When Rosie O'Donnell's daughter suddenly disappeared, she asked the public and police officers for help. Shortly, her teen daughter was found in the home of an alleged heroin addict. So Rosie O'Donnell decided to respond to a comment on Twitter who asked how the incident could have happened.
O'Donnell's daughter Chelsea O'Donnell went missing from her family's Nyack, New York, home on August 11. She was found in New Jersey on Tuesday, after the host contacted police and tweeted a public appeal for help. E! News just recently confirmed that 17-year old was found at the home of Steven Sheerer. What's even worst is that Sheerer had an arrest record for heroin possession. Police say Sheerer had met Chelsea previously when she was staying in Long Beach Island.
The former "The View" host revealed that her young daughter suffers from mental illness and had gone off her medication, then she went missing for an entire week, a source close to O'Donnell told People. "Rosie is very concerned about the guy she was found with," the source added. "Rosie is extremely concerned about everything and is trying to figure out what to do next."
Lt. Keith Germain of the Barnegat Police Department said, "All of our information is that she was there voluntary,". "We don't have anything that indicates that there would be criminal charges at this point." He also continued by saying, "It looks like she ran away from up there and came down here and ended up at his residence." Germain could not classify or put a label on their relationship.
Since many speculations circulated the Internet since, Rosie O'Donnell took to Twitter on Wednesday to reveal the truth behind the information about the identity of Steven Sheerer. She admitted that after discovering Sheerer's past trouble with the law, the comedian spilled out on her tweets.
"No mom is perfect," she took to Twitter after a follower commented that she's a perfect mom. "We all do our best." She added by saying, "When someone u love is drowning in the rapids-u throw everything u can into the water -hoping they will grab on -stay afloat #Believe."
Meanwhile, police stated that criminal charges are not warranted at this point. In addition to that, there was no evidence of drug use or drugs present at the time Chelsea was found at Sheer's home. Shortly after the whole incident, in a Wednesday morning, O'Donnell and her daughter were reunited at the family's home. It was also reported that the comedian was relieved that her daughter is now safe.
