Known for its advanced Android updates, the South Korean tech giant Samsung is once again advancing its banner as a good number of the Galaxy devices will receive the official over-the-air Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade in September. Which Galaxy devices will get the Marshmallow update first? Read on.
Samsung officially announced yesterday on its website through a post entitled "Android M: A Step Up from Lollipop" that 10 Galaxy smartphones and tablets will be debuting Marshmallow. The list includes newly-released Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 4 Duos, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Duos, Galaxy ALPHA, and Galaxy Tab A.
However, Samsung has not closed possibilities completely. According to a report, the listed device units could be added as it might only be an initial release of names prioritizing high-end and flagship handsets.
While Samsung is also on the verge of updating most of its devices to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, the tech giant is prepping to get ahead of the game by giving its consumers high hopes of what is coming up for their devices.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings a batch of enhancements, most of which came from Android. Additional changes and features from Samsung are also expected.
Marshmallow brings in power management, app permissions, app linking, memory usage tracker, and auto backup, Android Pay, among others. Samsung meanwhile brings with it its very own live Youtube broadcast, Apps Edge, improved Samsung Pay, UHG upscaler, Vacuum Tube Amp Pro, among others.
Samsung update will also bring the latest Touch user interface with more fluid animations. According to experts, the latest TouchWiz brings the best user interface.
In another report, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow is slated to come out early in 2016. Other reports tell that it might come out by the third quarter of 2015, particularly September.
Other competition in the market slated to update their devices as well with Android 6.0 Marshmallow are HTC One M9, one M8, One M7, LG G4, G3, Sony Xperia Z4, Xperia Z3, Motorola Moto G 2015, Moto G 2014, Moto G 2013, Moto E 2014, and Moto E 2013, among others.
