Android 5.1.1 Lollipop official over-the-air update is finally coming to the new 2015 flagship device of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 as its first software upgrade from the time it was released earlier this month.
Taking the Unpacked event by storm with Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy Note 5 in the United States, Afghanistan, and home country South Korea with model number SM-N920C is qualified for the Lollipop update with baseband version code N920CXXU1AOGE.
Google will send automatic notification message on the device and click "install" to pursue update process. Follow onscreen instructions. If not notified automatically, go for manual checking by heading over to Settings > About phone > Software update > Check for update.
Before deciding for the Lollipop update installation, make sure the battery is charged up to 50 percent and is connected to a Wi-Fi. Whenever necessary, back up important files through custom recovery when doing manual update since it might delete all stored data.
Meanwhile, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update also comes with an alternative release through custom ROM. To do this, here's a good way to go:
1. Install USB on the PC.
2. Activate the USB Debugging Mode.
3. Select the firmware file on PC.
4. Download and select Odin ZIP file here.
5. Launch Odin as the Administrator.
6. Restart Galaxy Note 5 in Download Mode.
7. Connect the device to PC using a cable.
8. Add firmware file through AP/PDA knobs in Odin.
9. Do not tick the repartition.
10. Click start knob.
11. Wait for a few minutes until download is complete.
