Matt Barnes isn't going to back down. The NBA player insists that he and the Umbrella singer had previously dated despite the fact that Rihanna had called him out on Instagram.
According to a report with Rolling Stone, Matt Barnes insisted that he and Rihanna went out on a couple of dates here and there. He insisted that he wasn't lying despite the fact that Rihanna had shut him down on Instagram. The former Clippers star sat down in an interview with The Jim Rome Show to address the said dating rumors.
"But the way I'm putting it right now, I'm too grown to lie, you know what I mean? It is what it is, I'm going to let this blow by like everything else blows by." the NBA player said in the interview.
Barnes also insisted that he and Rihanna were already well past the stage of being "just friends". The NBA player said that he and Rihanna were well past the stage of being infatuated with each other and that there is something brewing on between them than just friendship.
"What can you do? At the end of the day we're all grown-ups. Like I said I'm too grown to be lying about stuff, but life is life. You live and you learn." he continued in the interview.
The dating rumors between Rihanna and Matt Barnes sparked when the NBA player took to his Instagram and made it clear that he had a thing for Rihanna. The report with E! Online said that the NBA player had exchanged flirtations with Rihanna and went out on a few dates with her. However, Rihanna quickly shot him down saying that she never even met him.
Rihanna is said to be dating Lewis Hamilton after being seen together in Barbados.
