'Iron Man 4' star Robert Downey Jr. asks for a pay raise to reprise titular role. His character's Bleeding Edge Armor is seen in the Marvel crossover film 'Captain America: Civil War'.
According to Inquisitr.com, the fourth film in the 'Iron Man' cinematic series will be pushing through but until then Downey Jr. is allegedly in negotiations involving his ever increasing talent fee. Director Shane Black confirmed the richest man in Hollywood's return in the next film putting away contrasting reports that Downey Jr. is set for retirement or that he will be replaced by the younger character Harley Kenner played by Ty Simpkins.
Downey Jr. is reportedly seeking to increase his already hefty paycheck. As of this year, Forbes crowned the 50-year old actor the highest paid leading man in Tinsel Town for the third year in a row beating fellow actors Jackie Chan and Vin Diesel. He was also given a share of $40 million in his role as Iron Man in the upcoming 'Captain America: Civil War'.
The crossover film featuring a huge fight between Chris Evans' Captain America and Downey Jr.'s Iron Man won't be released until May next year but photos of the cast on set have circulated. Techno Buffalo posted behind-the-scenes leaks that looked to reveal Iron Man's Bleeding Edge Armor. The red, gold, and black armor, also known as Model XXXVIII, made the billionaire playboy-turned-superhero the most powerful in the world defeating even Thor and the Red Hulk.
In the comic books, it gave Tony Stark the capacity to view his surroundings in 360 degrees at all times. It is also the character's most advanced suit equipped with repulsors, tasers, pulse-bolts and even an energy sword. Its defenses can withstand even the most powerful enemies.
Another article by Movie Web reported that the suit would surely render Iron Man unbeatable and more likely to defeat his foe, Captain America. However, it may be possible that the upgraded armor won't actually debut yet in the first film in Phase Three since it is far too powerful and unbelievable to be revealed too early in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
'Iron Man 4' is a planned superhero film in Marvel's successful MCU. The titular character got his first live-action adaptation back in 2008 and proved to be quite popular in the mainstream box office as well as with critics and fans alike. It sealed Downey Jr. as an acclaimed mainstay in the world of superhero films.
