Gwen Stefani filed a divorce against her husband Gavin Rossdale after believing that he was cheating on her. It has also been said that the "No Doubt" singer was sad at the fact how her husband spends time away from the family.
Stefani and Rossdale's split is a long time coming. The ex couple was reportedly not getting along for quite some time before they decided to pull the plug on their 13-year marriage on August 3. Gavin was allegedly busy touring and was spending most of the time away from his wife and the kids, TMZ reports.
The two released a statement telling people that they were separating.
"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment."
Another angle of the story was brought up when Rossdale's former gay lover came out in public. In a sit down interview with Yahoo Insider, London-based singer and self acclaimed cross dresser Marilyn Peter Robinson dished on his relationship with the Bush frontman 30 years ago.
"I'm getting kind of the gist that people want me to be somehow to blame for the marriage split and that's just not true," Robinson told Yahoo Insider. "I love Gavin. I've always loved Gavin. I want him to be happy and Gwen, 45, to be happy and the kids to be happy." The singer adds he's not surprised with the divorce.
Gwen was unhappy about the divorce with Gavin. Sources revealed that she had done everything to make things work for years. The "Hollaback" singer admits that she was in love with him and they have the family she has always dreamed of, Daily Mail reports.
Her focus is her kids right now. Gwen is trying to make it easy for them. The 45-year-old singer filed the divorce in California Court citing irreconcilable differences. Both parties demand for joint custody of their three sons Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and 17-month-old Apollo.
