A new promotional banner unveiled by Lionsgate for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" movie gave a whole new meaning to "Fallen Snow." The banner debuted Monday, in time with the fifth anniversary of Suzanne Collin's release of "Mockingjay," the third and final "Hunger Games" book.
The artwork shows members of the resistance led by the Mockingjay, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) who wears a red suit. Katniss is standing on top of a "Fallen Snow." Panem's totalitarian ruler, President Snow's (played by Donald Sutherland) collapsed statue as her friends and fellow rebels stand with her in the foreground.
Being the second part of the feature film adapted from the third book of Collins, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" Part 2 is the last entry in the movie series. It will follow Katniss as she teams up with her closest friends, including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Finnick to work on a vital and crucial task. The rebels are plotting for the final mission to fight against Donald Sutherland's character, the devious President Snow and the Capitol. Many lives are at stake and sacrifices should be made. The new movie should boost the quality and quantity of the action to be able to go at par with the action found in the book.
Fans are to expect to have a broader sight of Panem's seat of power than ever in the saga's fourth and final film that will arrive this fall. According to director Francis Lawrence, the movie has the most amount of time spent in the Capitol. "We had to focus a lot on how to accomplish that, especially when we spend most of our time out on the street," he stated.
According to Lawrence, the 3-D hologram used by Katniss and her allies to plan their rebellion to President Snow is a mix up of a layout of Paris and old architecture of Germania. The route is severely treacherous but the production made extra effort to keep the film teen-friendly.
With Francis Lawrence again directing, the cast will consist of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth reprising their roles. The cast is completed with Julianne Moore, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Sam Claflin, Jeffrey Wright, Donald Sutherland and Jena Malone. "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" Part 2 will hit the cinemas on November 20.
