Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version is now available to Samsung Galaxy series and Moto series

Smartphone companies such as Samsung and Motorola are sending Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to its devices to fight against Stagefright bug. U.S carriers such as T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T are also sending the update to its subscribers. This is in response to the issuance of Google's new Lollipop update to stop the attack and spread of Stagefright virus.

Day Herald said that Galaxy S5, S6, S6 Edge and Note 4 rolling out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version. More so, Motorola is also sending updates to its Moto G 2014, Moto G 2015, Moto G 2013, Moto E 2014 and 2015 successor. OnePus, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, is also issuing the new OS version to its OnePlus One devices as noted by NeuroGadget.

Along with the smartphone companies are the various U.S. carriers which are also rolling out the new version. Verizon Wireless is issuing the Android 5.1.1 version to its subscribers who have Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, according to Gospel Herald. Further, the report added that Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T are doing the same thing to its subscribers.

On one hand, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 displays example on the improvements of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update as cited in NeuroGadget. These are quick unlocking, changeable clock colour, dark material theme, network traffic monitor, and toast animations.

Aside from the mentioned, interesting improvements of Android 5.1.1 version is the ability of the phone to fight against virus, NeuroGadget mentioned. As to speak, Stagefright bug virus has been putting Android handsets vulnerable to hackers, and this is one of the reasons why Google developed the new version of Lollipop.

It is known that Stagefright bug is the worst virus in Android devices that has been spreading and compromising the security of users. This is through an mms that subscribers receive even though it is not opened.

At the moment, there are other smartphone manufacturers and carriers that are issuing Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to its handsets.
