Android 5.1.1 Lollipop official over-the-air release for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is now live in Poland beginning today following a rollout happening in the North American region late last week. The latest Lollipop update brings with it a few minor tweaks and several improvements.
Last updated in April, the 5.1.1 version of Android Lollipop is going out first time in international variants of Galaxy Note 4 with model version SM-N910C and it will come in stages. Whenever the device gets notified that the update is already available for download, just tap "install now" and follow onscreen instructions. If the device have not been notified until now, try checking the availability by heading over to Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for update.
In the United States, Sprint is the first mobile carrier to release the update for the device two weeks ago. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is also available via Samsung KIES. The latest to roll out the update is T-Mobile with SM-N910T model version.
Aside from the performance improvements and tweaks, the latest and final version of Lollipop is also bringing security fixes for Stagefright vulnerability attacks and mobile radio active bug.
Outside of U.S and South Korea, Poland is the first market to experience an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop treatment. Traditionally, Poland is the first receiving Android updates since the beginning.
Meanwhile, a custom ROM from XDA is also now available to Samsung Galaxy Note 4 through Odin. Here's a quick start download:
1. Unzip the firmware file here.
2. Download Odin 3.10.6 here.
3. Extract Odin zip file.
4. Launch Odin.
5. Press hold volume -, home and power buttons to reboot Galaxy Note 4 in Download mode.
6. Connect phone and wait until a blue sign in Odin.
7. Add the firmware file to AP/PDA.
8. Ensure repartition is not ticked.
9. Click start button and wait for few minutes.
Unlike the usual custom ROMs, Odin will not void the warranty if installed. Make sure the battery is charged up to 80 percent.
