Minecraft: Story Mode Makes Its Sandbox Way Finally to Wii U

By

Minecraft: Story Mode will be building a bridge to go over to Wii U. Telltale Games initially announced that its adventure series will come to Xbox, Playstation, PC, and mobile platforms. But a tweet from its developer today confirmed that it will usher into Wii U this fall as well.

The affirmation-tweet from Telltale: "Story Mode is also downloading to Wii U this fall!" That summed up just about everything everyone else needed to know if Mojang's mega hit franchise will find its way to Nintendo. According to Gamespresso, this is the first time that Minecraft: Story Mode will be making its way to a Nintendo console. This is also the first for the series to have reached out to a new platform since Microsoft acquired the franchise.

Not to burst the fans' bubble: Although the series can be played at Wii U, players of the sandbox title won't be seeing it anytime soon in this platform. Attack of the Fan Boy reported: "Despite being an almost perfect fit for 3DS and Wii U, the game simply never came out for either system. With Microsoft now owning the series and its developer, the chances seemed slim that it ever would be released at all."

Story Mode will come in five episodes, with players journeying through Nether, the Farlands, the End and beyond. Jesse, the protagonist, will team up with his friends in finding The Order of the Stone to save their world from limbo. As had been known about Telltale, the story will depend on the decisions that the players will undertake along the journey - whether that be in dialogue options or the player's response to more action-orientated scenes.

Telltale has also confirmed some of the game's voice cast, which includes Patton Oswalt (Jesse), Corey Feldman, Billy West, and Paul Reubens. Oswalt was the voice of Remy in the film Ratatouille.
