LawBreakers Is New Free-to-Play PC Shooter of Gears of Wars Creator Cliff Bleszinksi

LawBreakers is the newest creation of Cliff Bleszinksi, The Gears of War creator. The new game was finally revealed during a livestream on Twitch on August 16. There will be loads of guns, outlaws, but no gravity on Earth. The free-to-play PC shooter was formerly known as Project Bluestreak.

The game is set years after the apocalyptic event called The Shattering; although gravity was still messed up, according to IGN. This event was brought about by a failed government testing which caused the moon to split, brought natural disasters to Earth, and affected its gravity. Taking advantage of the Earth's abnormal state, the world's criminals band together into one massive faction called The Breakers - to traffic narcotics and benefit from this new world order. Law agencies around the world pooled together to fight back and rescue the Earth from this drug syndicate. So, it's Law versus Breakers, hence the game's name, added IGN.

The game is pitted between five-on-five players - Laws and Breakers. As there will be no gravity on Earth, gamers have to use jet packs, gravity fields, grappling hooks, among other tools. Players can also maximize the environment in their favor, by turning the ground into lava, for example. Gamespot reported that Bleszinki brought in female characters to play in the game as well, as the LawBreakers designer want to appeal to a wide audience as possible.

Bleszinki's project was first introduced in April, when a not-so revealing in-engine trailer was initially shown under its former title Project Bluestreak. The Gears of War guru had founded his own company called Boss Key Studios, along with Arjan Brussee back in July, reported in Lazy Gamer. It was only until the livestream on Twitch that the game was properly introduced, and according to Lazy Gamer, "certainly looking interesting."

LawBreakers will be released in 2016 on PC, but no specific date yet is announced. A possible release on consoles will come after, but this has not been confirmed yet. The official gameplay trailer will be shown on August 28.
