Pamela Anderson 2015: ‘Baywatch’ Babe Dished on New Hope and Cure for Hepatitis C

Pamela Anderson has not been seen for a while. For the first time, the "Baywatch" babe broke her silence on the dreaded disease that she's been carrying for 16 years. She's been diagnosed with Hepatitis C and claims that the disease had kept her self-esteem low.

Pamela has tried a lot of medicines in the past, but nothing really works.

"I'm very fortunate that I've had Hep C for about 16 years," says Anderson. "Sixteen years ago that was [presented to me] as a death sentence. I think it really worked on my self esteem. Even though I may have looked confident on the outside, I think it really was a dark cloud that lingered over me," according to Perez Hilton.

After fighting with Hepatitis for so many years, the 48-year-old actress dished that hr doctors found an FDA-approved drug that can cure the virus within the month.

"I could be Hep C free within the month."

The mother-of-two states that she doesn't have liver damage and hasn't got any side effects. The actress claims that she's living her life the way she wants to, but at the same time, she feared that it could caused her some problem. She expressed her excitement to try the new product recommended by her doctors.

Pamela told PEOPLE that she wants to remove the stigma from hepatitis C from aids. More than ever, the author and advocate thinks that she feels better everyday. "I feel like I'm looking younger and younger and I feel like I'm getting those 20 years back."

In June, she authored a new coffee table photo book called Raw and admits she believes on having a healthy attitude and doing good things keeps you young. She also dished that at her age, maintenance is good, Daily Mail reports.

Anderson is mother to Brandon, 19, and Dylan, 17, with ex Tommy Lee. She was married to Lee from 1995 to 1998 and to singer Kid Rock from 2006 to 2007. The Canadian-American actress remarried her former husband Rick Salomon last year, but the two divorced months later.
