Captain Jack Sparrow is in for another adventure in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales. However, it is now confirmed that he will not be in it alone as it was revealed in the D23 Expo that he will be joined by Orlando Bloom's WIll Turner.
Johny Depp is reprising his role for the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean and the actor even appeared in the recent D23 in Captain Jack Sparrow costume. Variety reported that Depp joined Walt Disney Pictures president for production Sean Bailey as the ever adventurous Jack Sparrow.
Although Depp's appearance was reportedly short, he entertained the audience in the expo by throwing grapes, imitating Pixar's John Lasseter's act of giving shirts the previous day. Depp later said that he wanted to sing the audience a song but later admitted that he didn't want to as he was being ushered out.
Aside from Depp, Den of Geek reported that Orlando Bloom is also back to reprise his role as Will Turner. According to Screen Rant, Bailey confirmed that Bloom will come back, but, the details are still lacking as to what his character will do in the upcoming movie.
In the previous movies, it was assumed that Will Turner assumed Davy Jones' role as the captain of the Flying Dutchman. Rumors have also made their rounds that Will might be sought by his son to reconnect with him. Although his character is currently unknown, Brenton Thwaites is rumored to play as Will's son.
Meanwhile, according to Movie Pilot, fans might not see Keira Knightly as Elizabeth Swann since the actress admitted that her time in playing the character is over. "My time has definitely passed, I loved it, it was an amazing experience but I won't be going back." Knightly said.
Moreover, if Thwaites really end up as Will and Elizabeth's son who seeks to reconnect with his father, the reason might be because of Elizabeth's death. However, it was not confirmed in comic con, thus fans might have to watch the upcoming film for confirmation.
The upcoming movie will center on Jack Sparrow who will once again be haunted by his old nemesis Captain Salazar whose aim is to kill all pirates in the sea. Jack will then seek for the Trident of Poseidon which grants total control over seas to whoever possess it.
Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales is directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg. The cast also includes Javier Bardem, Kaya Scondelario, Geoffrey Rush, Kevin McNally, and Stephen Graham. It is set to hit theaters in July 07, 2017.
