Andrew Garfield Reveals Early Petition On Sony-Marvel Partnership

By

Andrew Garfield has revealed that he has petitioned for Spiderman to hook up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe long before an agreement took place in the upcoming film "Captain America: Civil War." "The Amazing Spiderman" actor said that he is stoked to watch the new Spiderman movie and Tom Holland's take on the character, but he is not yet entirely at ease talking about losing the role.

Garfield has sat down in an interview on Friday (August 28). It was for a promotion of his new film "99 Homes," and was caught off guard with his thoughts about the reboot of Spiderman movie; a role he has played in a two blockbusters. "The Social Network" star said that he is certainly grateful for the experience of being Spidey and he is excited for the next Spiderman movie.

As the new version of Spiderman - which Tom Holland has gotten - will take part in the forthcoming "Captain America: Civil War," the 32 year old actor said that he is glad that it is finally happening. He revealed that he had actually been in the rounds talking to get Sony and Marvel to pair up early on. This was the time when he still wears the Spiderman suit and still in the running to become" The Amazing Spiderman 3."

When asked if there were ever conversations with Marvel about him retaining the role after the deal, he answered sensitively saying: "No. To be honest [pauses], all the ins and outs of what happened is a more tender conversation that maybe I don't want to talk about in public in a press situation."

There is one well-researched theory how Garfield was denied of reprising his Spiderman role. The theory states that Garfield had "embarrassed" Sony Chief Kaz Hirai when he decided not to attend at a big Sony event at the last second. As a result, Hirai then cancelled his own speech where he planned to announce the young actor would play Peter Parker in Amazing Spider-Man 3.

Garfield was a little emotional when asked what he learned from being the famous web-spinner. He answered that he learned nothing because he was never Spiderman. "Because Spiderman's a fictional character, not real... All that shit. I didn't actually make it. I was never Spiderman."

The new version of Spiderman by Tom Holland will be featured in a supporting role in Captain America: Civil War in May 6, 2016. His own brand new solo film is expected in 2017.
