Microsoft Corporation has just announced last week that some phones running on Windows 8.1 mobile operating system will not be capable to update to the upcoming Windows 10 software which is now in final developer stage.
While currently rolling out to PCs worldwide, Microsoft has sadly announced on its Windows phone page late August that Lumia handsets and other brands running the Windows OS with 4 GB of storage and under will not be qualified to take on the new Windows 10 upgrade.
Interestingly though, this news was only revealed by the German website of the software titan and such reports cannot be found in other locations. For some, it is still safe to assume that Microsoft might indeed by planning out such exclusion to smartphones with under 8 GB of storage.
As the Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview shows, the update will consume at least 5 GB of the storage. With this news whoever reveals a bright side.
According to analysis reports, Windows 10 must be a heavy update to disqualify low-storage carrying smartphones from the update. From the looks of it, this could possibly mean that the latest Windows software update for mobiles shall bring extra treats and more features from Microsoft. On the downside, it could also mean Microsoft is bringing more bloatwares.
Nokia Lumia 530 is one of the phones slated not to be included in the update. Here are but a few of the Windows Phones with under 8 GB of storage also not qualified:
