The action-adventure video game will be now turned into a movie. Though, the movie is not happening anytime soon and is gearing to launch in 2017 with Chris Pratt looking on joining the cast. Big names in the Hollywood industry are also set to join the film - Mark Wahlberg, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Scarlett Johansson and Amy Adams to name a few.
Christian Post shared an update about the Uncharted production. Since Sony has started the movie project ever since 2008, a lot of talents are committed to push through with the project. Seth Rogen and Even Goldberg, however, declined the offer of writing the script of the film; thus, there's no final director yet who will take over the film.
Moreover, the production is looking at the Guardians of the Galaxy actor, Chris Pratt, to portray the role of Nathan Drake alongside with other Hollywood stars. Though, the given roles and names are just a blur view of the projected hence still unsure.
The film project started almost 8 years ago and set to have moved the tentative release date to a later date it was supposed to be released. Sony and its productions have made a calendar of release of their installments; and Uncharted is set to happen tentatively on June 30, 2017, Digital Trends reported.
The reason behind the delayed release of the movie was because Seth Rogen, the supposedly director of the Uncharted stepped down from directing the film. In the meantime, Sony's Uncharted will be appearing in consoles - pushing to PS4 and will be released in October 2015. Another game installment is on the go, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is in the pipeline and gearing up for next year's launch, Game Reactor Europe reported.
Furthermore, Chris Pratt might not be seen anytime soon in the Uncharted movie but the fans have something more to look forward to and enjoy - the game. All of these can still vary depending on the production that is set to be finalized sooner.
