Director Denis Villeneuve will be at the helm for the upcoming "Blade Runner 2." Ryan Gosling on the other hand is still in early negotiations with producers for the movie. As the movie is still in the works there are a few fascinating facts about the original "Blade Runner."
Conversations About Her reports that the "Blade Runner 2" is under negotiations to be directed by Denis Villeneuve. Denis Villeneuve was the one who directed "Prisoners" which received fairly wide positive feedbacks. The sequel is a second movie from the original 1982 film "Blade Runner."Hamtpon Francher, original co-writer teamed up with Michael Green to work on a new screenplay. The idea is inspired by Ridley Scott and Francher himself. The first film was played by Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard. To the fans delight, Ford will still take the main role as Deckard himself. Speculations are the sequel will start off after years of where the first film ended. This is just right for Harrison Ford's age at present.
TVNZ says that Ryan Gosling is under early talks with production of "Blade Runner 2." Hopefully he sees the role worth doing. Setting will be an imaginative 2019 in Los Angeles. Ridley Scott will now be producing instead of directing the sequel. Scott was the original director for "Blade Runner" and now is taking the backseat instead.

Ford's role was initially casted to Dustin Hoffman but Ridley Scott said his physical features didn't quite fit the character that was being made. Another fact is that Scott didn't read the book before placing it on the big screen.
"Blade Runner 2" has no definite date of release yet but it is said to come out in 2017. The early plan of hiring of Ryan Gosling still remains to be seen. If ever it does push thru the initial photography for the movie will transpire the mid of 2016.
