Chicago P.D. returns on September 30 for its intensified 3rd season where Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) is abducted with only Erin Landsay (Sophia Bush) to rescue him.
After leaving the intelligence unit last season, Lindsay returns in Season 3 to rescue his former partner and lover Halstead from the hands of his captors who demand a female officer to go in alone to save him narrated by Hollywood Reporter.
Season 3 trailer gives a glimpse on the separate lives of Lindsay and Halstead. Lindsay decides to leave the unit when she is told by Hanks Voight (Jason Beghe) that both of them (Lindsay and Halstead) will be fired from the department because of their prohibited romantic relationship according to Reality Today.
Lindsay gets drowned by her personal problem worsened by the consequences of being unemployed. Lindsay disposition, intoxicating as she sees it, causes her depression that she even has to take pain killers.
Halstead, on the other hand continues to work out how Lindsay could go back to the unit and to him. Vine Report tells the audience of the conversation between Halstead and Lindsay in an episode in season 3 when Halstead confronted Lindsay of her decision of leaving. Halstead challenges Lindsay to tell him in his face that she is done with it. Lindsay responds that she is and Halstead burst out, "I don't know who you are, but if you even see Lindsay again, tell her she made me a better cop."
The two then brokenheartedly walk away from each other. So tragic that the two parted ways in such a confrontation. Sophia Bush, however, tells the fans of Lindsay that she will be back. But Lindsay's return to the unit wouldn't be easy, warns Sophia, because of the new set of rules and consequences she has to put her self up to.
Lindsay and Halstead reunites in a place where Halstead is held hostage. The audience are left with great anxiety on the survival of the two. Chicago P.D. premieres in September 20 on NBC.
