No one's letting go of Elsa and Anna because they are coming back to the big screen in a sequel. Earlier this year, Disney Animation Studio has officially confirmed that "Frozen 2" is in the works. Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee will bring back the most-loved movie "Frozen," which brought big box office success to the studio back in 2013.
In the special screening of the Walt Disney Animation Studios Shorts Collection on August 9, Buck announced that together with Lee, they have started the process of forming the complete plot for the upcoming sequel and are currently brainstorming. Buck acknowledges that they are very excited for the sequel and although they already have a well-built notion for "Frozen 2," they want to make sure that the sequel will be more meaningful Master Herald reports.
Disney films are influential to young people's minds and it is integral that these movies will impress important lessons that will deal with current social issues. "Frozen 2" is going to put a lot of the spotlight on the sisters and their tight bond. They will also feature a different side of Elsa and show more of Anna's pursuits in life. Elsa will ponder on her need to open up and have some fun again from the time when she constrained herself for so long after becoming the ice queen of Arendelle.
One storyline linked to the upcoming sequel is that Elsa and Anna might have a brother. Buck has apparently revealed that the Queen and the King did not die because of the shipwreck. The Queen was pregnant, and gave birth to a little boy on the boat, Chinatopix reveals.
A part of the movie's success was its soundtrack. The genius of Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, have turned Idina Menzel's (Elsa) "Let It Go" into a kind of an anthem for "Frozen" fans young and old alike all over the world, as mentioned by Ecumenical News. There is no confirmation yet if Mr. and Mrs. Lopez will be joining "Frozen 2" to write new songs but it is reported that a major duet between Anna and Elsa in the upcoming sequel will happen.
"Frozen 2" is still a long way and details about the movie are still vague and thin but that's not going to stop fans from finding out what they can. The possible release date of the animated sequel will be most likely in 2018.
