The "Jumanji Reboot" will be released on December 25, 2016. However fans that are loyal to Robin Williams are not at all pleased about the announcement.
The announcement for the "Jumanji Reboot" by Sony Pictures Entertainment is said to hit theaters on December 25, 2016. I Design Times reports that the screenplay will be written by Zack Helm. Zack Helm was also the one who wrote the screenplay for "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium" and "Stranger Than Fiction." "Jumanji" is a 1995 film adaptation from the book of the same title written by Chris Van Allsburg. It was one of the first films in the 90's that used a huge part of CGI or computer generated images other than "Jurassic Park." It was casted by Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst and Bonni Hunt. Both Kirsten and Bonnie were very young at that time.
We Got This Covered confirms that the date for the "Jumanji Reboot." "Jumanji" is said to be one of the most loved films of that generation which was directed by Joe Johnston. With the very short time table left before the release of the sequel, the production team has to work double time in an effort to come up with the necessary people needed to build a motion picture. Looking for the right people like the director and the main cast will already be a handful. If they could speed up the essentials then well and good but if they are unable to do so a reset to a later date would be most advisable. Considering also that this sequel will undeniably require a lot more of visual effects compared to the first one.
However, the current downside is a lot of avid fans of Robin Williams and the "Jumanji" movie lovers are not pleased with the "Jumanji Reboot" according to Reddit. The prequel was very popular during the 90's not just because of its VFX but also because of Robin Williams. With only a year or so since Robin Williams died they feel it is too soon to be making a remake for the film. But on the other hand, there are others who are open to the fact of a remake.
"Jumanji Reboot" should be an exciting film to look forward to. But without Robin Williams who became a benchmark for the film's success, who will they replace or at least garner the role that Robin left. As to how it will land to the opinions of the fans and moviegoers alike remains to be seen when it hits theaters.
