XCOM 2: Release Date Moved To Next Year; Firaxis Gives Explanation to Waiting Fans

By

Following the success of the first, XCOM 2 certainly has its plate full for the moment, having announced a supposed release date, which was then moved a number of months further. With the fans of the first installment basically thirsty for more, XCOM 2 and developer Firaxis may have a lot of explaining to do.

According to MCVUK, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, has been confirmed to actually be in the PS Vita. However, contradictory to the positive information, news regarding the supposed continuity of the game, XCOM 2, is actually somewhat distant from what was first mentioned.

Recently reported by International Business Times, the title XCOM 2 is not a floating franchise waiting for a finalization. The game's initial release is not too far to be bored over, as the game is set to be released on February 5, 2016. Despite the fact that the game was delayed for the said painful period of time, the reason behind it may be considered legitimate and noble, at the most part.

As delivered by Gadgets, the developers of the PC-exclusive game XCOM 2 simply wish to further improve the game quality to its maximum possible potential. A post from XCOM's website further explained that they are looking to give more depth, replay features, as well as the ample investment for the players' soldiers, and the time requested as an extension will be sufficient to give the company time and fulfill the acclaimed improvement.

Furthermore, powerhouse games that are scheduled for release on November such as Rise of the Tomb Raider, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Star Wars: Battlefront, Need for Speed, and Fallout 4 pushed to release on to next year. This perhaps made the decision quite easier to come to.

During Gamescom, XCOM 2 has already exhibited great feats. But perfection or at least close to it may still be too far to pitch. Having said so, Firaxis may have made the right choice, of course with the right comprehension of their fans.
