Grimm casts an infant in Season 5. Adalind (Claire Coffee) gives birth to Nick's baby after the death of his mother and his girlfriend last season. The newest and youngest character changes Nick (David Giuntoli) and affects even his projects as a detective.
Season 4 ended with Nick holding around in his arms his girlfriend Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) after Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) shot her with two arrows. Latin Post recalls Juliette as the killer of Nick's mother, Kessley (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio). But because of Nick's affection to her, he could not harm her and so Trubel did the killing for him.
Nick was devastated by his loses, but with Adalind's pregnancy he was able to divert his attention. The baby will be playing an important role in their lives, but there will be complications during his birth. Nick then finds himself willing to do everything to protect their child.
Christian Today leaks what Executive producer Jim Kouf told TV Insider about the birth of Nick's child. Kouf said that Nick will make it to the hospital just in time for the baby's birth but he will be dismayed to find out that something goes wrong with the procedure and Adalind's life becomes in danger.
Still during the 2015 Comic-Con, Executive Producers David Greenwalt and Jim Kout had a discussion on the possibility of making Nick and Adalind's relationship work in Season 5. Greenwalt answered saying, "They have a kid, but who knows." Jim Kouf further says that Season 5 opens up a lot of possibilities to the characters even on their love affair.
Reality Today, spills out that because of Nick's extra bagages, he is failing in his projects. Actor Russell Hornsby (Hank Griffin in the show) said that the tension between Nick and Hank as partners in the department grows bigger and bigger in Season 5. Hornsby explains that the tesion between Nick and Hank is caused by Nick's inability to focus on the job . Nick decides to get projects of his own then.
Executive producers tells the audience of Grimm that the key of Grimm Season 5 is the rise of the Wesen so the audience can expect a lot of bad stuff coming to Portland. Personal problems that Nick faces in the upcoming season will keep fans glued onto their seats in the all-new episodes from Grimm. Grimm Season 5 will air on NBC on October 30.
