Selena Gomez is confirmed to be joining the cast of the sequel of the movie Neighbors. The actress is going to be added to the original cast, Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne.
The former Disney star Selena Gomez was spotted at the film's set in Atlanta. The singer hasn't officially announced her role in the movie, but it has already been proven that she will in fact be a part of the film. According to Entertainment News Online, all the original cast of the first movie will be reprising their roles in the upcoming sequel. It has been confirmed last April that another addition to the cast is Chloe Grace Moretz whose role has been confirmed to be a member of a sorority. Gomez's role however has not been publicized by any of the production staff of the movie.
As reported by Coming Soon, the first movie Neighbors was released back in 2014 and was considered that year's biggest original comedy, grossing to more than $269 million worldwide. Selena is best known for her role in Wizards of the Waverly Place back in her younger days when she was a Disney star. One of her big-screen appearances was her role in Spring Breakers, a more mature role at that. She was casted alongside Ashley Benson, Vanessa Ann Hudgens and Rachel Korine. She will be back in the theaters this month, but only her voice as Dracula's daughter in Transylvania 2.
AV Club reports that Selena's role is most likely also a member of a sorority alongside Moretz based on the photos that have been released to the media. Rogen will also co-produce the movie alongside Goldberg and James Weaver while Cohen and O'Brien will be the executive producers.
There have been no official trailer or plot released for the upcoming movie. However, it is set to be released in the theatres on May 2016 with Selena Gomez, Chloe Moretz, Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne as part of its stellar cast.
