Tom Brady's Deflategate Suspension Tossed by Federal Judge; Star Quarterback Back in the League As Season Opener

Tom Brady's Deflategate suspension of four seasons has been called off by a federal judge on Thursday, Sept. 3. The legal decision makes the New England Patriots' quarterback eligible again to play in the opening NFL season on Sept. 10.

US District Judge Richard Berman cancelled Brady's suspension in New York after a 40 -page decision has been made. He will then be able to play with his team during the NFL opening season against Pittsburgh Steelers, Times of Israel reports. According to Berman, the suspension was premised upon several significant legal deficiencies. The judge also claims that the husband of Gisele Bundchen "had no notice that his discipline would be the equivalent of the discipline imposed upon a player who used performance-enhancing drugs."

In May, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Brady after a report claimed that he had knowledge of Pats' staffers deflating footballs in January. As per UsWeekly, it was also discovered that the quarterback was aware of the inappropriate activities of the locker room attendant Jim McNally and equipment assistant John Jastremski. The 38-year-old star player was accused of tampering with the scandal known as "Deflategate," that occurred during the 2015 AFC Championship Game. He was also put under fire when he tried to destroy his cellphone.

The Jewish owner of the Patriots, Robert Kraft slammed the accusations regarding Brady's Deflategate suspension as "unfathomable." In July, the three-time Football MVP filed a lawsuit against the NFL for suspending him after the Deflategate scandal investigation. Brady got the support of the NFL Players Association to overturn commissioner Goodell's decision to suspend him.

After this Thursday's verdict, Goodell expressed his sentiments and claimed that they will file for appeal. "We are grateful to Judge Berman for hearing this matter, but respectfully disagree with today's decision," Goodell told E! News.

In the midst of his career controversies, Brady is also facing another rumor that's shaking his six-year marriage with his wife Gisele. The couple is said to be on the verge of divorce after news revealed that they have been constantly fighting after he was dragged into the Deflategate scandal.
