‘Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain’ Box Sliding Trick: Game Move also an Unintentional Fun Mini-Game

By

Gamers have been enjoying the latest "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" which was released last week. Various game tips and tricks have been shared online about the new game. A fan even recently shared a video which showcased a fun gameplay move for MGS5 - a box sliding trick.

Aside from the challenging missions the players would need to complete in "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain," it seems that the game developers have added what Twinfinite referred to as "the Best Unintentional Mini-Game: Box Sliding." According to the site, the fun "new sport" requires three elements for players to accomplish the feat: cardboard, sand and gravity.

In a video shared by YouTube user JmsNmnn, the game character Snake employed the use of a cardboard box as he stealthily tried to crawl on the ground before standing up and launching himself on the side of a mountain while inside the box. After the game character's cool mountain surfing act, Snake continued with his reconnaissance mission.

The gameplay feature may be a simple one but it is a wacky way to have fun in the game. Players can even opt to decorate the box with posters they find within the "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" gameworld. Meanwhile, using a cardboard box in the game is also a useful tip to stop convoys and vehicles, advised WhatCulture.com. Players can utilize it as a "roadblock" to confuse the enemy.

In order to deploy the cardboard box roadblock tip, players would simply need to equip the box and sit in the middle of the road that the convoy will be taking. Instead of un-equipping the box when the vehicle nears the area, players can just hit the Dive button. This will have Snake dart out the side of the box, with the cardboard "roadblock" firmly in place.

Once the vehicle stops and the enemy ventures out to investigate the cardboard box, players can choose to have Snake plant explosives, take out the enemy in a surprise move or even rescue a hostage victim from the vehicle.

The cardboard box move is just one of the handy yet fun tricks to do in "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain." Gamers should continue exploring the game to discover more tricks or check out the various online FAQs already out for the game.

"Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" was released last September 1 for PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
