'Total War: Warhammer' Trailer Reveals Dwarfs at War, Underground Battles

By

The new "Total War : Warhammer" trailer reveals the Dwarfs at war with a mob of giant spiders and Goblin hordes. High King Thorgrim Grudgebearer, with the Book of Grudges, sets out to avenge those who had wronged him and his people for their misdeeds and misconceptions about their kind. The total war will be held underground, with the Dwarf faction using a lot of heavy weapons.

Players will see in this cinematic trailer the Dwarfs in action. They carry different weapons such as hammers, guns, and heavy armor to siege a mob of giant spiders and droves of Goblins. Game Informer reports that the mustachioed steel-clad dwarf army have put their knowledge of gunpowder and machinery to good use in this "Total War: Warhammer" series.

Wars will be staged anew beneath the ground and will prove to be an all new territory for "Total War" fans as well. Lazygamer assured that the combat alone looks promising. With a different class introduced in this game, it altogether offers something fresh, and not just the traditional faction such as the Empire. Still, dwarves battle it out with hordes of greenskins, which is typically known of a Warhammer game.

"Players will also be able to experience underground battlefields for the first time in "Total War", with all the horrors of the dark and wonders of the deep they contain..." a part of the press release on September 3 said.

The underground battle will be the first in the 15-year-old "Total War" franchise. And according to Polygon, there will likely be a host of other firsts for this historical battle simulation's early descent in the fantasy world.

"Total War: Warhammer" will be the first in a trilogy, with expansions and standalone titles to be released in the future. The game is set to be released for Microsoft Windows, Mac, and Linux in 2016. With Sega now partnered with Games Workshop and Creative Assembly to develop multiple titles for the Warhammer series, and with this video breathing with potential; fans can't seem to wait for its release in 2016.
