Disney revealed a video clip series of live toy unboxing on the evening before the Global Force Friday event. On Thursday, Star Wars fans crowded outside Disney stores even on a late evening in order to get hold first of the new set of toys related to the upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" movie.
Traditionally, the Global Force Friday event happens every fourth day of September. A report on International Business Times declared that an estimate amount of $20 billion from the Star Wars franchise for Lucasfilm is far greater than the gross sales of the movie itself. It has been making so much money from the merchandised goods since the release of the first Star Wars film in 1977.
So, this just seems to prove that the movie has made its way to success. And according to another report on Variety, the "Star Wars" merchandise sales will be having an extension event on or before the film's premiere night on December. The studio said they aim "to preserve the integrity of key movie moments." A Disney Infinity 3.0 play set for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," is included in the list of the additional products to be soon available.
During an interview with theguardian, Anthony Daniels talked about working with JJ Adams, being monitored by Disney and reprising the worrywart droid one more time. According to him, he observed that JJ Adams is more collaborative than George Lucas simply because he likes to listen.
However, the 69-year old seemed to be a little insulted due to the unjust monitoring by the Disney, now, the owner of the Star Wars franchise. Not to mention that Anthony Daniels has been playing the role for long years.
"The secrecy has been beyond ludicrous," he sighs. "For heaven's sake, it's a movie. When I got the script, it was typed in black on paper of the deepest red so you couldn't photocopy it. I got a hangover just reading it."
Anthony Daniels also admitted that he was hesitant at first if he's going to take the offer. Until he saw Ralph McQuarrie's "C-3PO" painting, he felt different. It looked like the robot spoke to him asking for his help and to be his companion.
When he was asked about what was the best thing about being C-3PO, he said it was the praises and compliments he receives on his behalf and being his closest friend. It appeared like he got really attached with the C-3PO droid.
'The Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is produced by the Walt Disney Pictures, Lucasfilms and, Abram's Bad Robot Productions and will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It will be available in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D on December 18, 2015.
