Rebel Wilson is withdrawing from her role as the voice behind Mei Mei in the upcoming "Kung Fu Panda 3" movie. However, with an extended production schedule predicted for the film, Wilson had no choice but to pull out from her role due to scheduling conflicts. Kate Hudson was later chosen to be her replacement.
We Got This Covered shares that Rebel Wilson has already started recording as Mei Mei for Dreamworks "Kung Fu Panda 3." Mei Mei is a passionate ribbon-dancing panda who is romantically obsessed with Po. The character will also be the first female lead panda in the series. However, the schedule for production was extended creating conflict with Wilson's earlier commitments. The Australian born actress had to decide whether she would continue or not to continue voicing over the character. She was forced to choose the latter.
Cinema Blend reports that Kate Hudson will now be the new voice for Mei Mei in "Kung Fu Panda 3." With just four months before scheduled release of the movie, Dreamworks Animation will have their hands full in fast tracking everything to meet the scheduled release. The complexity of the situation is that they will have to remove everything that Rebel Wilson had already worked on. They have to insert Hudson's voice over every scene with Mei Mei. But this does not end there because even the animation will have to be redone to fit Kate Hudson's performance.
There is nothing to worry about though as the female lead character for "Kung Fu Panda 3" is in good hands with Kate Hudson according to Daily Mail. How Hudson's performance will become is yet to be seen as she will be joining the likes of Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogan, Bryan Cranston, and J.K. Simmons as the lead villain in the movie. Hudson on the other hand would share phots of her un costume beisde Mei Mei's character while doing her voice overs. The actress is visibly excited for her role in the "Kung Fu Panda" movie.
"Kung Fu Panda 3" will still hopefully be shown in theaters on January 29, 2016.However because of the extended production schedule by Dreamworks Rebel Wilson had to bow out of the film. Apparently, the extension caused a conflict in the schedule of Wilson. Kate Hudson was then signed up to replace her to voice over for Mei Mei.
