Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt have announced their separation, months after rumors of their relationship troubles have surfaced. The famous couple recently made a joint statement confirming their split, but assuring their family and friends at the same time, that they will remain friends and supportive of each other.
In an exclusive report from People, Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt shared their joint statement confirming their split. "With great sadness, we have decided to separate, after 18 years of love and shared history," the couple stated. "We will continue to be supportive of each other in every way possible moving forward."
According to the report, the decision came months after earlier separation rumors have swirled. Though other reports state that Westfeldt, 45, broke up with Hamm, 44, before he checked into a rehab for alcohol abuse last April, the couple denied them and said there was 'no truth in it.'
Daily Mail UK notes that the famous Hollywood couple has been together for almost two decades. Though they never married or had children, both Hamm and Westfeldt enjoyed their years together. The couple first started dating in 1997 and later on got the chance to work together in 2011's "Friends with Kids".
Eonline reported that the couple were last pictured together at the New York premiere after party where they were seen cuddling up together. The event took places a few months after Jon Hamm completed his rehab stint.
But just because their relationship has already ended, does not mean that their joint projects will come into halt as well. The two revealed that a few dual projects are still in the works, so the fans don't have to worry of not seeing them together in the future.
As Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt never married, their split will be straight forward and simple when it comes to the legal matters. Though both Jon and Jennifer shared their joint statement, time will tell how each party really feels on the breakup of their 18 year long relationship.
