The first and brand new trailer for the political satire "Our Brand Is Crisis" is out. Continuing on her non-rom-com string of roles, "Our Brand Is Crisis" is Sandra Bullock's film after her Oscar nominated take in 2013's "Gravity."

Bullock plays Jane "Calamity" Bodine, who was once a world-class campaign strategist but renounced the field through self-retirement after a humiliating professional upset. She takes the chance to redeem herself when she goes for the ride on helping sway a presidential race in South America. She was uncertain at first, but when she learns that her longtime competition Pat Candy played by Billy Bob Thornton is coaching the opposition, she was converted.

The narrative produced by George Clooney and Grant Heslov is based on a 2005 documentary with the same title. "Our Brand Is Crisis" depicts a fictionalized account of the 2002 Bolivian presidential election which involved American consulting firm Greenberg Carville Shrum to lock the election of Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada over socialist candidate Evo Morales.

The lead role was originally written for a man, specifically George Clooney in mind. However, with Bullock's passion for the film and the role, she succeeds in persuading the filmmakers to switch the role for a female character.

Talking about the film, Bullock said that she has put out feelers two and a half years ago saying that she is not reading anything she is excited about. "Are there any male roles out there that [the filmmakers] don't mind switching to female?" With her passion and persuasion, Jane "Calamity" Bodine was born.

Bullock has so much praises to give to the character. According to her, Bodine is someone who is superb in her field. Bullock added, "You don't get to read roles like this a lot. There's a lot of unforgivable things that she does, yet somehow you have to cheer for her."

David Gordon Green directs from a script by Peter Straughan. Joining Bullock and Thornton to complete the casts are Anthony Mackie, Scott McNairy, Zoe Kazan, Ann Dowd, and Joaquim de Almeida. "Our Brand Is Crisis" arrives in theaters on October 30 and will premiere at this year's Toronto International Film Festival.
