Channing Tatum's much-awaited Gambit movie may have found its female lead as Rebecca Ferguson is reportedly out and Lea Seydoux is revealed to be in early talks for the role of Bella Donna.
As reported by IGN, "Spectre" actress Lea Seydoux might be the newest addition to the cast of "Gambit" as she is currently in early talks for the role of Bella Donna Bourdeaux. Seydoux's name was reportedly first linked to the role earlier last month, along with Abbey Lee and Rebecca Ferguson.
However, Comicbook Movie reported that Lee and Seydoux are the only personalities left vying for the role as Ferguson is now officially on board for the movie adaptation of the novel "The Girl On The Train" along with Emily Blunt.
According to International Business Times, Bella Donna has been portrayed in comics as Remy LeBeau aka Gambit's childhood friend whom he fell in love with as they were being arranged for marriage. However, Bella's brother Julien, was not in favor of the two's romance and interfered which later caused Gambit to kill him. Gambit and Bella later grew apart and evetually became enemies. Bella became the leader of the Assassin's Guild, while Gambit became the leader of the Thieves Guild.
Tatum is set to play as the mutant Gambit who has the the ability to create, control and manipulate kinetic energy and use cards as weapons and is also a member of the X-Men. Aside from starring in the film, Tatum is also set to produce along with Reid Carolin, Simon Kinberg, and Lauren Shuler Donner.
Rupert Wyatt is set to direct the upcoming Gambit film while the screenplay is written by Joshua Zetumer and based off a treatment by Chris Claremont, the creator of Gambit. It is set to hit theaters in October 07, 2016.
