Tom Holland is suiting up in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot. Spider-Man will attempt to join the Avengers and will also be getting a new re-engineered suit from Iron Man to help him fight crime. Meanwhile, actress Emma Thompson revealed she no longer wants to watch a Spider-Man film.
Holland is set to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Spider-Man, but apparently, it will not be his first time donning the red and blue costume. As reported by MTV, Holland recently posted a photo on Instagram of his old Spider-Man costume from when he was a child. "A trip down memory lane... Thanks mum for keeping this", he wrote in the photo's caption.
According to Movie News Guide, Holland is set to debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the movie "Captain America: Civil War" where he will make a cameo appearance as the web-slinging hero. Moreover, the report also cited that teenager Peter Parker is seeking to become a member of the Avengers, but will be rejected by Captain America due to his lack of experience.
However, it is not something to be discouraged about as he will eventually get into crime fighting in the upcoming reboot of the film. Spider-Man is rumored to get a new re-engineered suit as well as a mechanical web shooter from Tony Stark.
Meanwhile, Harry Potter actress Emma Thompson revealed that she no longer wants to watch another Spider-Man film. "If I see another 'Spider-Man,' I'm going to have to actually hang myself. I can't do it anymore!", Thompson said, as reported by Yibada.
According to Thompson, she has nothing against Holland but added that way too many Spider-Man films have already been done in the recent years. "They're all marvelous. But how many times can you make this franchise, for crying out loud? After a while, you do get a bit cynical about superhero movies. The fact that I know they're going to win out in the end has now slightly interfered with my continuing to go to those movies," Thompson added.
Plot details for the Spider-Man reboot is presently scarce. However, writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein previously revealed that it will not be an origin story. The reboot will be directed by Jon Watts, and is expected to be released in theaters in July 28, 2015.
