'Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens' reveals latest images of Stormtroopers and command shuttles. They also offer a sneak peak of the franchise's newest characters. Filming of J.J. Abram's latest installment has concluded last 2014 but it was recently reported that cast and crew may return to reshoot some scenes in Skellig Michael island in Ireland. However, these reports have been debunked.
According to IGN, the website Star Wars 7 News released high resolution images from the vinyl wall manufacturer Fathead showing various graphics for the upcoming film. In one image, John Boyega's Finn is seen shooting a Stormtrooper rifle with a blue light in contrast to the red light featured in previous films. Other images also offered previews of Gwendolyn Christie's Captain Phasma as well as Daisy Ridley's Rey. Main antagonist Kylo Renn's Star Destroyer was also featured in detail.
It was reported by Cinema Blend that production for the seventh installment in the franchise has been concluded and it is now on its post-production phase. Filming began on May 16, 2014 and ended in November 2014 - most of it done at Pinewood Studios in England. On-location principal photography was done in the Abu Dhabi desert as well as Skellig Michael in Ireland.
Skellig Michael is a protected UNESCO Heritage Site that has strict restrictions and regulations against visitors, according to an article by Entertainment Weekly. It was previously reported that filming crew for 'Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens' may make their way back to the island to shoot additional scenes. However, it has been cleared out that J.J. Abrams team will not be reshooting and instead the plan was intended for the sequel 'Star Wars Episode VIII'.
'Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens' is an upcoming epic science-fiction film to be released on December 18, 2015. It will feature the return of Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker.
