The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone Update: Storyline leaked prior to October 13 release; CD Projekt RED talks NEW powerful characters and more

Prior to its October 13 release, exciting details on The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone have been leaked online and revealed the plot where fans see Geralt of Rivia in a decision making situation. CD Projekt RED, on the other hand, has talked about the introduction of new powerful characters in the first expansion and more.

Gamepur reports that the said leak was taken from the fans' conversation where Geralt asks Yennefer, Triss, and Ciri on getting rid of a mark on his body. The conversation can be accessed at the CD Projekt Red's forum pages but it contains a warning that some major spoilers on the expansion's plot are included.

As added, the situation where the game's protagonist Geralt is in has underlined that Hearts of Stone is not going to be a simple add-on to the game but will also bring an impact on the trilogy. However, an official revelation on the storyline The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone could still be as interesting as the leaks despite that these information does not include spoilers.

In his recent interview with GameSpot, CD Projekt Red game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz answered a straight no when he was asked if the storyline will be connected to the original plot of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. He further explained, "the story told in Hearts of Stone is pretty much standalone from the events that took place in Wild Hunt, so even players who have not finished the game can play."

Moreover, Tomaszkiewicz has only dished a few details regarding the characters in Hearts of Stone and whether there will be a whole cast of new characters or feature some old faces like Shani to make an appearance in the upcoming expansion.

"With HoS, we introduce a few new really powerful characters but long-time fans should definitely be happy with one character in particular," he said. "I won't give you a more direct answer not to spoil the fun; gamers will have to see for themselves," added Tomaszkiewicz.

The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone will feature 10 hours of exciting new content set to be released on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 13.
